Welcome to my website!

This is my 20th year of teaching and my 12th year at the high school.  I currently teach English One, EWU 170 and I am the adviser of the yearbook.  My first six years of teaching were spent at Arcadia in a self-contained sixth grade classroom.  In 1997-1999, I took a two-year leave of absence to teach at Vientiane International School in Vientiane, Laos where I taught grades  6 and 7  Humanities and grades 7-9 ESL.  I returned to the states in 1999 and began teaching at Deer Park High School.  Over the last 10 years, I have taught Freshman English, Honors Freshmen English, Basic Freshman English, Sophomore English, Freshman History, Sophomore World Cultures and Advanced Placement Literature and Composition.  I am certified to teach K-8 Elementary Education, 4-12 English, 4-12 History, K-12 Special Education.  I also have my Master’s in Guidance and Counseling, and in 2002 I received my National Board Teaching Certificate in English and Language Arts (Adolescence and Young Adults).
